Our model is very simple. If the total dollar amount of hours billed is less than the seller-side commission (typically 2.5-3%), then homebuyers will receive payment for the difference at closing. In most cases, the difference is in the
thousands or tens of thousands of dollars that homebuyers will receive at closing but will vary depending on the number of hours spent with your agent in the search of a home, the purchase price (PP) of your home, and the resulting commission.
Below is an example:
$300,000 PP @ 3% ($9,000.00) commission – $3600.00 in billed hours = $5,400 to homebuyer
As a note, there is no correlation between the purchase price and the number of hours billed. Generally, the higher the price of the home, the higher the rebate/payment received at closing. The lower the price of a home, the lower the rebate/payment received at closing.
